My Guest from Heaven!

The smell of the roasted turkey in the oven and the sound of family members chatting happily with each other, celebrating Thanksgiving Day.  But really, how many of us know the real meaning of this holiday?  How many know true way to celebrate Thanksgiving Day?

For most people that I know, it seems like, that the only purpose and the only way to celebrate this day is having a huge meal with their children, their family and their friends.  Each family would have 10 different kinds of food, another 10 different kinds of desserts & fruits and a very carefully garnished big turkey in the centre of the table.

Thanksgiving is much more than this, though!  It is more than just one traditional day event with family, friends and a turkey.
It is simply, a life time attitude towards each other.

Yes, we should be with our children and friends on this day to celebrate this holiday, but first we should be able to have a good answer to these questions:
How many empty stomachs that couldn't afford a decent meal, we filled?
How many lonely souls we offer them our company and we lifted their spirit?
How many sad and gloomy eyes we wiped the tears from them?
Jesus will ask us all these questions when we call on his name in our prayers.

On Thanksgiving we should be showing our kindness and an act of mercy toward others who most need it.
We should know the true meaning of this superior day, so we can celebrate it in a right way.
“If you only love your children, what makes you different than the non believers (non Christians) as they love their children, too."

" A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you”  Jesus said.  (John 13:34).
Does anyone have any sympathy, understanding, compassion and kindness in their hearts, the way Jesus had and gave to the taxpayers, the roman soldiers and even to the sinners, when he was with us on earth?  No, not really.  At least, no one that I know.

I was alone waiting for someone from all these Christian families to wish me a Thanksgiving Day. Unfortunately, no one from Edmonton, did.
No man or woman were kind and humble enough, like Jesus, to offer me his or her company, so I don’t have to be alone on this day.

                                                                                           My Little Secret!
The main reason that made me write this article, is to tell you a secret. Something that had happend to me, on Thanksgiving Day and I would like to share it with you. It is for real and very much true.  I was going to keep it to myself but it’s too overwhelming for me, to hide.

 My friends
I was not alone on Thanksgiving Day.
I had a visitor, a visitor from Heaven.
Jesus himself was with me all day long, that day. He offered me his company and I was thrilled.
I felt his present when he sat beside me, he put his arms around me, he bowed his head down and he cried with me.

I am so happy, thrilled and full of excitements that I had to spend the day with my Lord.
He assured me that everything will be fine and he will  always, be there for me, when I need him.
One thing though, he wanted me to remember. He told me that he loves me, unconditional and he asked me to give his love back to others especially, to those whom gave none, to me.

Jesus said:    "What you do unto others, you are doing it to me"

Not to my surprise and to Jesus' disappointment, no one called us. Not even to say, hello!  None of these Christian people in Edmonton offered to Jesus and to me their companionship. Yet, they call unto his name when they pray and worship.
"Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.”   Jesus said.  (1 John 2:9-10).
We should not forget the great love that Jesus gave to us.
He asked us not to keep his love to ourselves and our loved ones only, but to give it and share it with others even,
"Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.”   Jesus said.  (1 John 2:9-10).

Only when we do what Jesus had asked us to do, then and ONLY THEN .. we will be granted his blessing!

                                                                        Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
